First Time Talking about Divorce with Jessica Childress and Johanna Cranitch

Hi First Timers! We’re back with out first episode of the year and we are gonna dive right into the tough stuff: divorce. I’m talking with two of my closest friends who happen to be divorcees and so generously shared their experiences with us for today’s episode: Johanna Cranitch and Jessica Childress. I met Jo when I booked her for a women’s artist night series I used to run at a club in Brooklyn another lifetime ago,  and Jess and I met when we toured together singing backing vocals for Allen Stone. They’re both talented singers, composers, songwriters and even better friends and just some of the most kick ass people you’ll ever meet who I admire greatly.

I wanted to do an episode on divorce because it’s so common, I think especially at the age we’re at: mid 30s-early 40s. We all know someone who has been divorced but do we really know what that experience was truly like for them, and more importantly, do we know how we can better support our friends and family who are experiencing divorce?

Equally as important, if you are someone who is considering divorce, I hope you find today’s episode helpful in that maybe it’s the final jolt of inspiration you need to leave a marriage that isn’t meant for you, or maybe it brings you back to your partner and inspires you to dig deeper into your connection with them.
